Public Safety Announcement- Bad Batch of Heroin

For Immediate Release:  January 26, 2017

The Atlantic City Police Department would like to warn the public about a potentially bad batch of heroin that is currently being distributed in our area.

Although any heroin use can be deadly, we have seen an increase in heroin overdoses in the last week resulting in at least six deaths.

On January 25, 2017, between 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm, patrol officers along with medical personnel responded to six overdoses with two being fatal.  Four other individuals were revived after being administered Narcan.

Heroin bags stamped “King of Death” have been responsible for at least two of the fatal overdoses.

Call 911 immediately if you know someone who may be using heroin and experiencing an overdose.
