Seeking Public's Assistance in Locating a Wanted Male

For Immediate Release:  February 23, 2017

 

The Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a male wanted for shooting at another male.

On January 25, 2017 at 4:15 pm, patrol officers responded to the Venice Park section of the city for a ShotSpotter alert and reports of gunfire.  Officers arrived to find evidence of a shooting.  There were no injuries reported.

The Violent Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into the shots fired call which led to charges being filed against Sharod Taylor.  The investigation led by Sergeant Joseph Iacovone and Detective Joseph Procopio resulted in the execution of two search warrants leading to the recovery of evidence of the shooting.  The intended victim’s name is not being released at this time.

 

ARRESTED:  Sharod Taylor, a 29 year old male from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of weapon for an unlawful purpose, and certain person not to possess a weapon.
