El Paso shooting suspect

Many news organizations have contacted the Allen Police Department to inquire about our contact with a person who has been identified on social media as the El Paso shooter.  Our contact with that person can be described as limited at best.  There are only three contacts in our database related to this question.

1.  8/6/2014  The suspect (as a juvenile) was reported as a runaway.  With in approximately 30 minutes the reporting party called the Allen Police Department stating the runaway had returned home without incident.  As a result of the update he was never entered into the missing persons database.

2.  11/7/2016  The suspect was listed as a student/passenger on a Plano ISD school bus.  The bus was involved in a minor traffic accident that the Allen Police Department investigated.  He was listed as one of eight passengers on the bus at the time of the accident.  There was no injury to any passengers on the bus.

3.  3/3/2019  The suspect called Allen dispatch to report a false residential alarm at his grand parents home.  The call was cleared without incident according to protocol.

There is no record of any person(s) ever contacting the Allen Police Department in reference to this suspect and any activity that he may have been engaged or involved in.

On behalf of all the members of the Allen Police Department our thoughts and prayers are with the family members and friends of those affected by this tragedy in El Paso.
