Three Officers Sustain Minor Injuries Arresting Wanted, Resisting Suspect

For Immediate Release:  October 1, 2019

On September 30, 2019, a man wanted for kicking in the front door to his ex-girlfriend’s residence was arrested after fighting with several officers.

At 7:58 am, Officer Jamar Dabney was conducting a park and walk in the area of the 1400 block of Adams Court when he came upon Khalil Washington.  An arrest flyer for Washington had been distributed earlier in the morning stemming from an incident on September 29.  Washington kicked in the front door to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and threatened to have her assaulted.  A warrant was issued for Washington’s arrest.

As Officer Dabney attempted to arrest Washington, he began to fight and resist Officer Dabney’s efforts.  After several minutes and the arrival of additional officers, Washington was placed in custody.  Washington, Officer Dabney and two officers were transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, to be treated for minor injuries sustained during the incident.

CHARGES:  Burglary, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, obstruction of justice, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault on a police officer.
