Man Engaged in Drug Transaction Arrested
For Immediate Release:
November 20, 2019
On November 19, 2019, officers on foot patrol arrested a man
after interrupting a drug transaction.
At 12:13 pm, Officers Chris LoDico and Isaiah Johnson were
conducting a park and walk in the area of Tennessee and Atlantic Avenues. They observed a man loitering in the area and
were then approached by a concerned citizen indicating that the man sells
drugs. As the officers watched the man,
they observed him begin to engage in a drug transaction. They quickly began to approach, but the two
men split up upon seeing the officers. They
were able to stop Malik Waddell before he left the area. Waddell initially provided the officers with
an alias name. He was placed in custody after
being found in possession of 60 bags of heroin.
Waddell was positively identified after being
fingerprinted. He was found to have an
active warrant for his arrest. The other
man was not located.
ARRESTED: Malik
Waddell, a 26-year-old man from Pleasantville, NJ.
CHARGES: Possession of
a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute
CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone,
hindering apprehension, and contempt of court.
Waddell was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
