*Update - Arrest** Vineland Police Department - Shooting Investigation

As a result of the below-listed investigation, the following subject has been arrested and charged. The Vineland Police Department is still attempting to identify a 2nd subject wanted in connection with this shooting.

Robert H Blakely 3rd (21) of Cecile Drive in Millville was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

1 count of Criminal Attempt Murder

1 count of Conspiracy to commit Robbery

1 count of Robbery

He was processed and lodged in the Cumberland County Jail and was later released following a hearing per the NJ Bail Reform guidelines. The victim remains hospitalized in stable condition at this time.

On January 2nd, 2020 at approximately 8:20 pm, officers from the Vineland Police Department were dispatched to Inspira Medical Center for a report of a gunshot victim who had been transported there by private vehicle. After a brief investigation, it was determined that this incident occurred in the area of 6th and Grape St. of Vineland, inside of the vehicle that the victim was transported to the hospital in.

As a result of this the incident, an 18-year-old female from Lower Alloways Creek sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper arm that traveled through and lodged in her chest. She was eventually transported to Cooper Medical Center in Camden where she is listed in critical but stable condition.

Members of the Vineland Police Department Detective Bureau along with Detectives from the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office were able to speak with several witnesses in this incident as well as the victim.

This investigation is on-going and being conducted in conjunction with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office. Additional information regarding this case will be released at a later time pending the investigation.
