Search Warrant Yields Heroin, Cocaine, and Xanax, One Arrested

For Immediate Release:  February 21, 2020

 

On February 20, 2020, an investigation into drug distribution resulted in the arrest of an Atlantic City man and the recovery of narcotics.

At 2:24 pm, detectives of the Special Investigations Section conducted a search warrant at an apartment in the Altman Terrace public housing facility located in the 1000 block of Arctic Avenue.  Detectives arrested Ronald Legette after assorted drugs were found in the apartment.  500 individual bags of heroin, 16 grams of cocaine, 33 Xanax pills, and paraphernalia used in the distribution was located.

The search warrant was the result of a three-week investigation led by Detective James Barrett.

 

ARRESTED:  Ronald Legette, a 52-year-old man from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:  Two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1,00 feet of a school zone, possession with intent to distribute CDS within 500 feet of a public zone, and a single count of possession of a prescription legend drug, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.

Legette was released on a summons with a future court date.
