On March 2, 2020, a drunk driver fled the scene of a motor vehicle crash that resulted in serious injuries.

At 9:53 pm, patrol officers responded to Route 30 and Grammercy Avenue for a report of a crash involving two cars.  Officer Eric Knuttel of the Accident Investigations Section arrived to find a heavily damaged vehicle with two trapped occupants.  Atlantic City Fire Department personnel quickly worked to extricate the trapped occupants.  Both occupants were transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with serious injuries.
