For Immediate Release:  May 25, 2020

On May 24, 2020, an altercation between several individuals resulted in the arrest of a man and a response from the Atlantic City Police Department’s Emergency Response Team.

At 7:53 am, patrol officers responded to the 1100 block of Arctic Avenue for a report of a man with a rifle.  Before officers arrived, the suspect fled into a residence in the same block.  Officers established a perimeter around the home. 

Officers interviewed several witnesses on scene and learned the suspect, Wesley Robinson, became involved in an altercation with individuals in front of a local convenience store.  The individuals threw items at Robinson who returned to his residence and emerged with the gun. 

The occupants of the residence exited at the request of officers, however, Robinson failed to exit.  The Emergency Response Team responded and communicated with Robinson.  He surrendered to the officers and was arrested without incident.  Officers recovered an air-soft AK-47 style BB gun with the orange tip removed along with two air-rifles inside the residence.

ARRESTED:  Wesley Robinson, a 48-year-old man from Atlantic City.

CHARGES:   Unlawful possession of a defaced weapon and contempt of court. 

Robinson was released on a summons with a future court date.
