Robbery Suspect Arrested

For Immediate Release:  September 30, 2020

 

On September 27, 2020, a suspect was arrested after robbing a man inside an elevator of a local motel.

At 2:13 am, patrol officers responded to the Baymont Inn and Suites located at 125 south Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard for a report of an armed robbery.  Officers spoke with the victim, 35, of Brooklyn, NY, who stated that he was robbed at gunpoint of his belongings inside of an elevator.  A photograph of the suspect was located and provided to officers.

At 5:31 am, Officers Irwin Sanchez and Joseph Kelly located a man matching the description of the suspect in the photo at Tennessee and Pacific Avenues.  The man fled before officers could have contact with him.  A short time later, the officers located the suspect, Albert Hannah Jr., where he was taken into custody without incident.  Hannah was found in possession of 20 bags of heroin and a small amount of cocaine.

ARRESTED:  Albert Hannah Jr., 31, Vineland, NJ.

CHARGES:  Robbery, theft, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, certain person not to possess a weapon, tampering with evidence, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

Hannah was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
