Pair Arrested After Fleeing from Officers in Stolen Car

For Immediate Release:  November 24, 2020

 

On November 22, 2020, a man and woman, each with warrants, were arrested after fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle.

At 9:07 pm, Officer Joseph Kelly attempted to conduct a motor vehicle stop on a car that had been reported stolen in Atlantic City.  After activating his emergency lights and siren, the driver, Jason Sandfort, sped away leading Officer Kelly on a pursuit. 

Sandfort crashed the vehicle into a parked car in the 100 north block of Florida Avenue.  He immediately exited the vehicle and fled on foot with Officer Kelly continuing to chase him.  Officer Kelly was able to apprehend Sandfort after half a block and taken him into custody after resistance. 

A woman in the vehicle, Samantha Buglioli, was arrested by responding officers.  Buglioli initially provided officers with false information.  She was later identified through fingerprinting.  Buglioli and Sandfort were each found to have active warrants for their arrest.  During the investigation, officers recovered small amounts of heroin and methamphetamine, three types of prescription medication, and narcotic paraphernalia. 

 

ARRESTED:  Jason Sandfort, 49, of Elwood, NJ.

CHARGES:  Theft, eluding, receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice, resist arrest, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, contempt of court, and two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and multiple motor vehicle summons.

 

ARRESTED:  Samantha Buglioli, 30, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ.

CHARGES:  Receiving stolen property, possession of CDS, possession of narcotic paraphernalia, hinder apprehension, contempt of court, and three counts of possession of a prescription drug.

Sandfort and Buglioli were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
