For Immediate Release:  July 16, 2021

The Atlantic City Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred on July 15, 2021.

At 10:45 pm, patrol officers responded to a parking lot near the intersection of Florida and Atlantic Avenues for a report of an assault.  Officers arrived to find a victim, MD Hossain Morshed, 47, the 4th Ward councilman for the City of Atlantic City.  Morshed was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
