911 Call Leads to Arrest of Man with Gun and Drugs

For Immediate Release:  October 25, 2021

 

October 24, 2021, a 9-1-1 call for a man armed with a handgun led to an arrest and the recovery of the handgun and drugs.

At 7:08 AM, Officers Christopher Dodson, Alberto Valles, Ahmed Waqar and Warren Young responded to the first block of south Florida Avenue in reference to a man in possession of a handgun.  Surveillance Center personnel were able to direct the officers to Dupree Frederick Jr who was in the area and matched the description of the caller.  A loaded handgun was recovered from Frederick’s pocket.  He was arrested without incident and also found to be in possession of 250 bags of heroin and five grams of cocaine.

The handgun was found to have been stolen from Virginia Beach, VA.

 

​ARRESTED:  Dupree Frederick Jr., 22, of Galloway, NJ.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon while committing a CDS offense, possession of hollow-point ammunition, receiving stolen property, possession of CDS (two counts), possession of CDS with intent to distribute (two counts), and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone (two counts).

Frederick was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
