Search Warrant Leads to 2 Arrests, Recovery of a Handgun and Drugs
**NEWS ALERT**
For Immediate Release:
January 15, 2022
On January 14,
2022, two individuals were arrested following a search warrant that led to the
recovery of a gun and drugs.
Detectives of
the Special Investigations Section along with members of the Atlantic City SWAT
Team executed a court approved search warrant in the 3000 block of Pacific
Avenue. The warrant was the culmination
of a two-week investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics led by
Detective Christopher Dodson. During the search, detectives located cocaine,
packaging materials used for distributing narcotics, and $1,780.00 in US
currency believed to be proceeds from illegal narcotics sales. Additionally, a
Ruger semi-automatic handgun was recovered.
ARRESTED: Francisco Rodriguez, 32, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of a weapon while committing a CDS
offense, possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS,
possession with intent to distribute CDS within 1000 feet of a school zone, and
possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
ARRESTED: David Corcoran, 58, of Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Possession of a weapon while committing a CDS
offense, certain person not to possess a weapon, possession of CDS, possession
with intent to distribute CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS within
1000 feet of a school zone, and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Rodriguez and
Corcoran were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused
are considered innocent until proven guilty.
