For Immediate Release: March 20, 2022

On March 17, 2022, Officers arrested three individuals for possession of three handguns loaded with hollow point ammunition and high capacity magazines.

At 2:02 AM, Officer Ivan Cruz conducted a motor vehicle stop on three vehicles in the second block of south Arkansas Avenue after previously observing the vehicles driving at a high rate of speed in the area of Missouri and Fairmount Avenues. Officer Cruz successfully made contact with the occupants of two of the three vehicles. The third vehicle was located unoccupied and it was determined that three individuals had fled from that vehicle. Two of the individuals, Brock Gould and a 16-year-old juvenile, were tracked and located by Sergeant Brian Fleming, Officer Ivan Cruz, and Officer Danny Rodriguez. A brief foot pursuit ensued and the two individuals were ultimately apprehended and taken into custody without incident a short distance away. The third occupant, Trayon Bennett, fled on foot from Officer Ivaylo Penchev. Bennett was subsequently located and taken into custody as well without incident. Inside the unoccupied vehicle, officers located a loaded handgun on the driver’s side floor. Immediately adjacent to the vehicle, officers also located two additional loaded handguns.

ARRESTED: Brock Gould, 30, of Bridgeton, NJ.

ARRESTED: Trayon Bennett, 18, of Bridgeton. NJ.

ARRESTED: A 16 year old juvenile from Bridgeton, NJ.

CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon (3 counts), possession of a high capacity magazine (2 counts), possession of hollow point ammunition, eluding, obstruction, and conspiracy.

The juvenile was remanded to Ocean County Juvenile Detention Center. Gould and Bennett were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere accusations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
