Police Searching for Man with a Gun

Brooklyn Park SWAT has located the male who is now barricaded inside a residential home in the area. There is no longer a need to shelter in place if you live in this neighborhood. A large police presence remains in the area as Crisis Negotiators speak with the individual.
Brooklyn Park Police Officers and SWAT are currently searching the area around the 7200 Block of Idaho Ave. for an adult male armed with a gun. The male is described as an older white male wearing a camouflaged jacket. Park Brook Elementary has been placed in lockdown as a precautionary measure. Please avoid this area if you can. If you live in this area, it is recommended that you lock all doors to your home and shelter in place. Additional information will be released as soon as possible.
