UPDATE to May Shooting, Suspect Arrested

For Immediate Release:  June 30, 2022 


The Atlantic City Police Department announces the arrest of a suspect involved in the shooting of two individuals that occurred in May of 2022.


An investigation conducted by detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit identified Jerome Ford as the suspect involved in the shooting resulting in the filing of criminal charges. Ford was arrested on June 29, 2022 in Sicklerville, NJ.    


On May 13, at 9:31 AM, patrol officers responded to the 900 block of Caspian Avenue in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. Responding officers arrived and located evidence of gunfire but initially did not locate a victim. Moments later, officers were alerted that two male shooting victims, 31 and 30 of Atlantic City, arrived at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.


ARRESTED:  Jerome Ford, 23, of Mays Landing, NJ.


CHRAGES:  Attempted murder (2 counts), conspiracy to commit murder (2 counts), aggravated assault (4 counts), unlawful possession of a weapon (2 counts),  and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (2 counts).


Ford was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. Charges are mere allegations and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
