UPDATE to August Shooting - One Arrested and Charged

The Atlantic City Police Department announces the arrest of
a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred on August 28, 2022. An
investigation conducted by detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit led to the identification
of the suspect resulting in charges being filed.
On August 30, 2022, at 11:41 PM, Officers Troy Grams and
Kevin McGloin observed a male matching the description of the shooting suspect
in the 2900 block of the boardwalk. Officers Grams and McGloin approached the
male, Neil Henry, and made contact with him. As the officers spoke to Henry he
became agitated and began to walk away. The officers attempted to stop Henry
but he refused their orders and a struggle ensued. During the struggle a
satchel Henry was carrying fell from his person and onto the boardwalk. Henry
was ultimately placed in custody by the officers. The satchel Henry dropped during
the struggle was found to contain a 40-caliber handgun believed to have been
used in the shooting. In addition to the charges filed by the officers,
detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit filed charges against Henry for the
shooting.
ARRESTED: Neil Henry,
30, of Brooklyn, NY.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a
weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault (2 counts), aggravated
assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest (2 counts).
Henry was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility Facility.
The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations and the accused is
considered innocent until proven guilty.
