Information Leads to Arrest, 2 Handgun Recovered

For Immediate Release: November 11, 2022.


On November 10, 2022, an Atlantic City man was arrested after being found in possession of two handguns.


Sergeant Christopher LoDico received information that a male operating a white Nissan Altima, last seen in the area of Ohio and Grant Avenues, was in possession of two firearms. A description of the vehicle was broadcasted to patrol units.


At approximately 4:20 PM, Officers Brandon Bower and Syed Evans-White observed the vehicle in the 1600 block of Adriatic Avenue and initiated a motor vehicle stop. The driver and sole occupant, Timothy Barabin, stepped out of the vehicle and was detained for investigatory purpose. Officers located a handgun in Barabin’s waistband and placed him in custody without incident. Officers also located a handgun with a high capacity magazine under the driver’s seat. The handgun located under the driver’s seat was determined to be stolen out of the state of South Carolina.  


ARRESTED: Timothy Barabin, 43, of Atlantic City.


CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon (2 counts), possession of a high-capacity magazine, and possession of a stolen handgun.


Barabin was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused are considered innocent until proven guilty.
