For Immediate Release:  March 16, 2023

On March 14, 2023, a tip411 submission resulted in the arrest of a man wanted for his involvement in a shooting that ensued in the filing of charges for attempted murder and various weapons offenses.

The police department received a text through the tip411 anonymous reporting system indicating that Ayman Shiham had entered a residence in the 3800 block of Ventnor Avenue. Patrol officers were dispatched to the residence and immediately set up a perimeter around the building.  Officers made contact with Shiham who subsequently surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

The arrest stems from a shooting that occurred on March 10, 2023. At 7:27 AM, patrol officers responded to the 3800 block of Ventnor Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert. Officers arrived and located a 29-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Evidence of gunfire was also located at the scene. The victim was transported by ambulance to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for treatment of injuries that are considered non-life threatening.   

ARRESTED: Ayman H. Shiham, 21, of Atlantic City.

CHARGES: Attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a high-capacity magazine.

Shiham was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility. All charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
