About

ENJOY OUR PARKS

The parks in Cincinnati are one of the City's finest assets. They are a great place to go and relax. The tranquility of the parks is rarely disturbed by criminal acts, but the Police Department recommends taking these simple precautions to ensure your safety.

Do not take shortcuts or dirt paths through wooded areas.

Stay on well-lighted, populated pathways.

Remember there is safety in numbers.

Always walk or run with a friend.

Look into joining a local community running club.

Remain alert and aware at all times.

Don't wear headphones.

Always carry some form of identification, even when running. A label in your clothing will be sufficient if you are not carrying a wallet or handbag.

The Cincinnati Police Departments Neighborhood Watch program is based on the National Neighborhood Watch Program and has been recognized repeatedly by the Ohio Crime Prevention Association as one of the best in the State of Ohio.
The Cincinnati Police Department has developed our program to help prevent citizens from becoming victims of crime. The Neighborhood Watch program encourages you the citizen to become more involved in the protection of your community.
Your role in the program is to simply report suspicious activities and crimes to the proper authorities. The program ensures citizens who are registered members of the program can remain anonymous to the public. To have a good watch program, the police first need YOUR help. We need you to be the eyes and ears in your neighborhood. The uniformed police cannot be on every street and in every house, but YOU the citizen ARE. You know as you walk in your neighborhood who belongs there and who does not. A police officer on patrol may pass through once or twice daily it your lucky. There are things you can see that the uniformed officer never would.
The cooperation of citizens and the Cincinnati Police Division makes a strong Neighborhood Watch program and will help in the deterrence of crime.
