COMMUNITY NOTIFICATION: Cambridge Police responded to a call around 9:20 p.m., on Thursday night, for reports of multiple gunshots near Danehy Park. The initial report was for more than 8 shots fired. Officers located multiple shell casings in the area of Field and Fern Streets. There were no victims or witnesses located. Overnight, our Patrol Operations and Detectives determined the shots were fired near the intersection of Field and Fern Streets, by the entrance of the park. We are investigating exactly how many shots were fired and how many firearms were involved. There are no injuries or evidence of injuries at this time.
