COVID-19 Update

Police Chief Eliot K. Isaac has confirmed that a Cincinnati Police Officer assigned to District Three has a confirmed case of COVID-19.  The Officer is in good spirits and quarantined at home.  Two additional officers from District Three have also been tested for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and are also self quarantining as they await their test results.

The Cincinnati Police Department is taking immediate measures to decontaminate the District Three police station and implementing an alternative site for District operations.  The Police Department will also be working with public health officials in regards to contact tracing.  All District Three employees will leave the building temporarily to allow a contractor to deep clean building.  District Three will continue to provide full patrol services while this process occurs.

Chief Isaac issued this statement regarding the confirmed case, "While we know this is trying time for our officer that has tested positive, we are grateful that they are experiencing mild symptoms and we will support them and the entire Department as this pandemic impacts our city and the world.  We will continue to provide the highest level of police services, but we must emphasize the importance of social distancing and the steps we need to take as a society and as a Department to keep our employees safe, so we can keep the public safe."

The Cincinnati Police Department will continue to provide updates as this situation evolves.
